Life Cycle Theory
Life Cycle Hypothesis

The theory and its origins Life-cycle theory makes its first appearance in two papers that Modigliani wrote in the early 1950s with a graduate student, Richard Brumberg: Modigliani and Brumberg (1954) and Modigliani and Brumberg (1980). The implications of the theory were too rich to be easily contained in one paper, and the second was fated not to be published for many years. The theory states that individuals seek to smooth consumption over the course of a lifetime, borrowing in times of low income and saving during periods of high income.

According to village history, the village is named for the time when a "pir" descendant of Sheikh Baha-ud-Din Zakariya came to the area for a spiritual retreat. He rested near the Choa river and used its waters to perform the Islamic cleansing rituals wudu at Karuli.
